Dr Girish is a specialist in Nephrology with a brilliant academic career, which formed a sound foundation for this clinical practice. Having trained in some of the world renowned hospitals in UK, he has gained expertise in the field of nephrology and is able to handle the most challenging cases.
His responsibilities included managing around 100 hemodialysis cases every week. He has been involved in specialty clinics like general Nephrology, Transplant, hemodialysis and pre transplant and liver donor assessment. He has managed High Dependency Unit for renal transplant cases. He has vast experience in renal procedures like tunneled hemodialysis lines, PD catheters and renal biopsies.
His major interest is in management of acute post transplant cases, including common immediate and late complications. He also manages post kidney and pancreas transplant cases and prescription of immunosuppressants, along with dose adjustment and complications. He is an active member of the Multi-disciplinary team for high risk transplants. Has worked as part of a team involved in the management of ABO incompatible transplants
In addition, he is an expert in management of Acute Kidney Injury patients on hemofiltration. Consequent to his work in different types of hospitals he has experience in management of acute and chronic kidney disease. He has regularly co-ordinated with a team of physicians and led hemodialysis access planning, adequacy, anemia and bone profile decisions
He performs medical insertions of peritoneal dialysis catheter and its complications, dialysis prescription and changes.
He values ethics and practices evidence based medicine and follows international and national protocols in patient management. His communication skills in counselling patients and family has enabled him to get the patients to come for follow up and long term treatment.
